Product Description

The Unic C3 automation system is an embedded engine management system used for Common Rail and Dual Fuel Engines type 20, 34, 46 and 50DF on vessels with ACC or ACCU Class Notation. Engine management system is housed in a control cabinet with local display and panel comprising Main Control Module (MCM) based on Motorola Power PC MPC561 for speed or load controls; Local Control Panel (LCP) comprising Local display unit (LDU-20) and Graphical backup display (WIP-11); Engine Safety Module (ESM-10 or ESM-20) and a Power Distribution Module (PDM-20) with a number of Input/output Modules (IOM 10) and Cylinder Control Modules (CCM-20) mounted on the engine to monitor and control the engine and cylinder parameters. Two fully redundant supplies are arranged for the modules via the PDM. Communication between MCM, LDU and the IOM and CCM modules is via dual CAN bus network whilst the Engine Safety Module is hard wired to all safety critical sensors and solenoid valves and the MCM/LCP. Interface with external power management/main switchboards, ship alarm and remote propulsion control systems are normally hard wired. Digital communication with external alarm system is also possible over the Ethernet / Modbus TCP/IP port within the LDU., Fuel Sharing Functionality added to Dual Fuel Engines type 34, 46 and 50DF to increase the possibilities for the end users, typically for LNG carrier, to operate vessels with higher degree of fuel flexibility.
