Pitt-Char XP, intumescent for Steel divisions (Bulkheads and Decks)

Product Description

PPG's Pitt-Char XP, a 2 part 100% solids, polyamide epoxy intumescent coating system, reinforced within the mid-film with metal, carbon fibre or silica fibre mesh, dependent on fire rating (details as per manufacturer's application guidance). The nominal applied density of Pitt-Char XP is 1060 kg/m3.

Product Ratings

Subject to service restrictions detailed below, a Bulkhead and Deck will provide Fire Integrity (as demonstrated by testing per IMO resolution A.517(13) with ISO 834 Hydrocarbon Curve or IMO Resolution MSC.307(88), Annex 1:Part 3 with UK Department of Energy Hydrocarbon Curve) for the following Ratings with the associated Minimum Thickness of Pitt-Char XP application: | | H-0 Bulkhead, 7.6 mm; | H-60 Bulkhead, 10.6 mm (no mesh); | H-120 Bulkhead, 14.5 mm (no mesh). | | H-0 Deck, 8.3mm; | H-60 Deck, 11 mm; | H-120 Deck, 18 mm.
