The test element is constructed by six layers. The first layer is AC-JII type primary deck covering, 25mm thickness and 1000kg/m3 density (25mm nominal thickness and 800kg/m3 nominal density). The second layer is wire mesh (1500*2000*Ø5mm), mesh size is 150* 150mm. The third layer is ABM-SR type mineral wool, 50mm thickness and 140kg/m3 density (50mm nominal thickness and 140kg/m3 nominal density). The fourth layer is AC-JII type primary deck covering, 15mm thickness and 1000kg/m3 density (15mm nominal thickness and 800kg/m3 nominal density). The fifth layer is damping layer, 1mm thickness and 1300kg/m3 density (1,5 ±0,5mm nominal thickness and 1300kg/m3 nominal density). The sixth layer is Q235B steel plate, 5mm thickness (5mm nominal thickness) and 39,25kg/m2 (7850kg/m3). The test element is sealed by CCS.
The total size of the test element is 3800mm*3000mm and the mounting boundary is 100mm width. So the valid test area is 3600mm*2800mm that is as the size of the test opening.
