Single leaf hinged fire door composed of door leaf and frame and various fittings.
The door leaf is manufactured from 1.0 mm thick steel sheets, reinforced inside with 45 mm x 10 mm (along the top edge) and 45 mm x 6 mm (along the vertical edges as well as along the bottom edge) flat steel. An inlay of 45 mm x 6 mm Promatect H board (nominal density 870 kg/m³, manufactured by Promat GmbH, Germany) is mounted along all four edges, discontinued at the hinges, between the flat steel and the steel sheet, and additional 15 mm x 6 mm Promatect H mounted along the edges inside the door leaf towards the furnace side. The steel sheets of the door leaf are folded on top of each other with an overlap along the edges of the door leaf which are covered with 2 mm thick U-profiles of specification 22 mm x 58 mm x 22 mm, welded together along all the corners as well as diagonally from the corners. Along the hinged side the edge profile is additionally fixed to the door leaf edges by means of steel screws for the hinges.
The insulation inside the door leaf consists of two layers of 25 mm thick calcium silicate board type Silca 200 (nominal density 210 kg/m³, manufactured by Calsitherm GmbH, Germany) glued together as well as to the steel sheets with an adhesive of approved type at each layer.
The door leaf is provided with a latch/bolt lock at the centre. The lock casing is insulated on both sides with Promatect H board. A protection cap is welded to the back side of the door frame covering the holes for the latch/bolt lock. Along the hinged side of the door leaf, at a height of approx. 950 mm from the bottom edge, a Ø14 mm steel safety bolt is screwed into the door leaf and projecting 23 mm out from the door leaf (matching hole in the door frame is fitted with a protection cap welded from the backside of the frame).

The door leaf is connected to the door frame (made by 3 mm thick steel Z-profiles of specification 24 mm x 64 mm x 60 mm) by three steel hinges. The door was tested with the door frame fixed to the steel bulkhead with M8 x 20 mm bolts (with nut per approx. 360 mm along the vertical door frames and per approx. 310 mm along the top and the bottom door frame) and may be installed with door frame both bolted, tack- and fully welded to the bulkhead.
