5300 Series Guided Wave Radar Level and Interface Transmitter
Product Description
The 5300 Series guided wave radar level transmitter is used for monitoring, process-control and hi/lo-alarming in continuous or batch like operation for the marine applications. It is based on the Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology. Low power nano-second microwave pulses are guided down a probe submerged in the process media. When a microwave pulse reaches a media with a different dielectric constant, part of the energy is reflected to the transmitter. The time difference between the transmitted and the reflected pulse is converted into a distance and the total level or interface level is calculated. The intensity of the reflection depends on the dielectric constant of the product. The higher the dielectric constant value the stronger the reflection. It uses Direct Switch Technology for signal transmission between the transmitter and the receiver. Measurement data is transmitted as an analogue 4-20 mA signal with a superimposed digital HART signal or FOUNDATION fieldbus signal., , There are three specific models 5301, 5302 and 5303. The transmitter is available with intrinsically safe Non-incendive or Explosion proof/Flameproof approvals.
