Intrinsically safe radar microwave integrated level, temperature and pressure measurement system based on the utilisation of smart microprocessor technologies. The STEM TA840 radar is a stand-alone distance measuring device using a microwave signal to measure the distance between a flat antenna and the surface of the product in the tank (ullage). The difference in frequency observed between the emitted signal and the echo coming back from the surface of the product allows the distance to be calculated. The data is directly processed and transmitted to the STEM IS-power unit and finally sent to the system control unit prior to forwarding to remote monitoring devices. It also features self diagnostic, self monitoring and remote configuration capabilities and local indications. All electronic components including the flat antenna are located in completely sealed stainless steel housing. The unit can be mounted directly on tank roofs.
