The Geislinger coupling consists of radial arranged steel spring packs, which are clamped at their outer ends and are engaged in the grooves of the inner star. , The chambers, which are formed between the spring packs, intermediate pieces and the inner star, are filled with oil. , The elasticity is determined by careful choice of leaf springs and the damping factor by the gaps, which interconnects the oil chambers. , The intermediate pieces act also as "take home" capability for the case that some spring packs are damaged.
