Product Description

The VF range couplings are rubber in shear devices where the rubber is bonded between the faces of two metal plates configured to give a uniform stress and strain across the section and a torsional stiffness independent of the applied torque. , They may consist of one or two such elements acting in tandem., , They are designed to be a suitable connection for SAE J620c flywheels using diameters and fasteners as per this flywheel standard., , They will generally be attached to a laminated metal membrane device which provides a low axial stiffness., , They are designed to absorb up to 1.5 times their respective nominal torque (TKN) repeatedly for normal transient conditions, e.g. for starts and stops, without sustaining any damage. When used in Diesel generator installations, they are designed to absorb up to 3 times their respective nominal torque (TKN) for abnormal transient conditions without having to be inspected for sustained damage., , Their design also allows maximum transient torques of 6 times their respective nominal torque (TKN), e.g. in the case of electrical short circuits, in which case it is recommended that they are inspected at the earliest convenience.
